5 cats in one day!
We had FIVE ADOPTIONS today! This is absolutely out of the ordinary, and wonderful! It was busy busy busy! I wonder if this has happened the day after christmas in years prior, or if everyone was just in good spirits today in particular. Whatever the case, I'm thrilled and excited. Our total count in the shelter right now is 99, which means I can actually let a few in from the waiting list. Amazing!
Christmas for Leonard
I just got this happy email. I love stories like this:
Goodness!! I work at the Eastgate Pet Clinic, and go figure the day after I emailed you, Dr. Fowler, who owns the clinic and also works at the Humane Society, brought in a little 12 week old kitten that had been hit by a car. Instead of letting them euthanize him at the shelter, she adopted him and fixed his leg pro bono!!! Sweet little guy is recovering at our clinic, but I've decided to bring him home once he's all healed up! I'm so excited!!
Coffee is the Cure
Dear WestVet:
Thank you for providing free coffee. It has saved my sanity during more long trips to your office than you can imagine.

Ringworm Free!
Eight kitties in quarantine without ringworm get to move to isolation tomorrow. YAHOO!
Favorite things heard around the shelter lately
Two of my favorite overheard quotes, as of late:
"I do not pet cats that look like lions."
"Can you hurry up [dumping the trash]? I have to do my hair."
