Bootsie and Finny: Females

Bootsie (grey) & Finny (tabby)
These two spayed and indoor-only (both are declawed) 9 year old girls have been together since they were 6 months old, so we would like to keep them together, if possible. They are both sweet cats that love to be petted as long as it is on their terms. They need a home where they are not regularly around small children. They will run and hide from kiddos but if the kiddos don't take the hint, they can be cranky. Before we had a kid of our own, we would just lock them up whenever company with kids came over and it wasn't an issue. Now that we have a child, we find that they have to be locked up all the time, which isn't fair to them. They prefer a quiet home where they can spend their days snoozing. Both are timid with new people, meaning they will hide until they feel comfortable. But after an hour or so of hearing someone's voice, they will get curious (Bootsie usually before Finny) and come out to meet folks.
Bootsie had her teeth cleaned (and a couple removed) about 2 years ago. Finny's teeth were in good shape at her last vet visit. Both cats free feed, so they just need their food dish filled up periodically. They are particular about their litterbox and "demand" that it be cleaned on a daily basis (or that they each have their own litterbox and they be cleaned every other day.) Bootsie is a thin kitty and Finny is overweight so we have both on weight control cat food (per our vet's instructions).
If you are the right home for these kitties, we will provide everything you need (litterbox, a bag or two of food, dishes, medical records, etc.) Because of the kid issues and cat allergies, we must part with them. They will be living in our laundry room until the right home can be found.
